Now, let me add, it’s not a “bad” light. It’s just not a good light for what I do (Hunting - and probably many others).
Let me explain… this light “throws” the light much like a flood light would. In certain situations this is good. In MOST [whitetail] hunting situations (eg. Forest, thickets, swamps, heavy brush, etc.), this is almost unusable… once that “flood” light hits the thick shrubs or even slightly open forest, things start to wash out.
This light WOULD be a winner with a better/dedicated high output “spot” light functionality. Many times in the forest you need to see directly in front of you and far off into the distance. Peripherals vision at night, IMO, is secondary.

As a hunter, I’ve used a lot of different headlamps. This is by far the best one I have ever used, the lock feature is great for not turning on in your backpack, I also like that the red light is first to come on in the cycle. It is extremely important out in the hills.

Just got back from using it on an elk hunt. So far it’s been pretty awesome. Battery seems to last. Easy to charge. I don’t love the mode selection and on off. But I’m sure once I get use to it it will be easier.
